Wondering how to get started? Here are a few tips:

1. Invite your players

Invite them with either their email address or their Obsidian Portal username.

2. Edit your home page

Make a few changes to the home page and give people an idea of what your campaign is about. That will let people know you’re serious and not just playing with the system.

3. Choose a theme

If you want to set a specific mood for your campaign, we have several backgrounds to choose from. Accentuate it by creating a top banner image.

4. Create some NPCs

Characters form the core of every campaign, so take a few minutes to list out the major NPCs in your campaign.

A quick tip: The “+” icon in the top right of every section is how to add a new item, whether it’s a new character or adventure log post, or anything else.

5. Write your first Adventure Log post

The adventure log is where you list the sessions and adventures your party has been on, but for now, we suggest doing a very light “story so far” post. Just give a brief overview of what the party has done up to this point. After each future session, create a new post detailing that night’s adventures.

One final tip: Don’t stress about making your Obsidian Portal campaign look perfect. Instead, just make it work for you and your group. If everyone is having fun, then you’re using Obsidian Portal exactly as it was designed, even if your adventure log isn’t always up to date or your characters don’t all have portrait pictures.

That’s it! The rest is up to your and your players.

Session 2: Drunken Ramblings
I took notes y'all!

Check this out, I took notes from our last game. Seriously, you guys. Even under the influence of tasty mojitos!

So yea, we did loot the lumber camp tents and liberated the poor souls of 130sp and 140gp. Oh and a guy named Horak, who is still alive! I guess he wouldn’t let us leave him, so we took him back to Falcon’s Hollow, via the Red Star Logging Camp (who weren’t quite pleased that we brought a sick dude into their camp). Apparently there’s some chick in town that’s a better apothecary than Rurg or Cicely (Cicely scoffs). Her name is Laurel and she owns Roots and Remedies. We left Horak just outside of town with Roblique and Noman and got Laurel to come take a gander (fortunately before Noman was able to light Horak on fire). She decided that we needed to collect some ingredients: Elderwood Moss, Rat’s Tail Root (Cicely knows about this), and Ironbloom Mushrooms (I think we can count on Pigsly for this).

And then it all gets a little fuzzy…where has the rum gone?!

Anyone else have anything to add? Am I close?!

Session 3: Prelude

4707 14th of Rova (September)

As the camera faded to a drunken haze (and many tears of laughter) our heroic band of adventures had just discovered the cure for the insidious rot that has struck the Falcon’s Hollow area.

With assistance from Laurel, the local herbalist, the band narrowed down the list of ingredients to three missing pieces:

Elderwood Moss – found growing on the “heart of the forest”, the biggest, and oldest tree in all of Falcons Hollow. Rumored to be a favored snack of forest drakes and trolls.
Rat’s Tail Root – Rumored to be in the possession of “Ulizmila” a terrifying witch that lives deep in the darkest corner of the forest.
Ironbloom Mushrooms – One of the rarest items in all of Falcons Hallow; typically found growing around forges and metal deposits. To the north of Falcons Hollow is an abandoned dwarven monastery that Laurel suggests may be a fertile growing area for these rare mushrooms.

As the band stands in the mud splattered street outside Roots and Remedies, the sky opens up, and a crack of lighting arcs across the sky. The few damp residents of Falcons Hollow still walking through the muddy streets scatter towards shelter, often in the form of the warm, and inviting, Jack A’ Napes Inn and Tavern. The sound of whining horses, cawing ravens, and howling dogs permeates the rain slicked town.

A trotting horse with rider rambles by the group throwing up mud and water in the air. As the rider moves on, the group is startled by the sight of a yellow and orange flower bloom that has been kicked up by the horse. As the party watches, it slowly disappears back into the water filled hoof print.

The lighting arcs again.

What's a witch gotta do to get some help around here?!

Okay, so I’m probably going to need some help with this; it’s been a while! Not sure why I didn’t do it sooner…

So it started raining. Hard. Annoying. We ducked inside the Jack A’ Napes Inn and Tavern for some food/drink/shelter/entertainment/information. While Roblique and Noman were flirting with Werst (yes, seriously), I decided to ask around about the creepy flower disease or whatever it is.

First I went over to Kabren Blood-eye and his entourage. Talk about not helpful! He didn’t seem to have any idea about what was going on in the logging camps he’s responsible for. Hmmf. Useless to me.

Speaking of useless…I went over to my brother Yellow-Haired Gnome to find out what his deal is! First I had to take a shot of some nasty liqueur, but even after that he didn’t seem to want to talk to me. I don’t get it; I was just trying to be friendly!

So the next morning we head out in search of our first ingredient. Roblique apparently had one of his “moments” and bashed some poor logger in the face! Honestly, I don’t know what my buddy Rurg sees in that guy. Anyway, then some icky zombies attacked! We killed them. Wait, weren’t they already dead? Whatever, we won. – Cicely
